No, in manga it was logical - temporary impotence happened after Eldoriel arc, sort of after-effect of curse she put on him there (watch the next episode, doubt that writers will change that part).

And authors omitted later part of the arc - meat diet (but it mentioned, so it might be readded later). In the manga Peter recruited Eldoriel after Mithlim (girl with long ears from the opening, dwarf city arc), so anime team moves in weird direction, rearranging story for no good reason.
